Kay Bob's Grill & Ale was conceived as a healthy alternative for the Hillsboro Village and Vanderbilt crowd. Besides being healthy the food is a unique blend of Persian and Southern influences. Owner, Amir Arab, also considers himself a mix of Persian and Southern cultures since he was born in Tehran, Iran, but has lived most of his life in Nashville, Tennessee.
When we first opened in 2011, Kay Bob's Grill & Ale concentrated on providing all natural, antibiotic free chicken and beef on handcrafted flat bread sandwiches. Our meats, vegetables and seafood are grilled to order over an open flame on large skewers as our homemade flat bread bakes in the oven. We also created unique freshly made sauces to pair with our dishes such as Spicy Mango, Cucumber, House Barbecue, Sweet & Spicy Mustard and Horseradish. We can make meals to accommodate vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free.
The response we received was great and within a year we added more healthy salad options, appetizers, as well as platters complete with grilled meat, seafood and vegetables served with Basmati rice and flat bread.
One of our biggest additions to Kay Bob's Grill & Ale was the enlarging of our craft draft beer selection to taps. This has allowed us to really showcase local, regional and national craft beers. Our list is always changing and customers love coming in to see what we have to offer.
At Kay Bob's Grill & Ale we welcome every guest with smile, and extend an open invitation for you to spend some time with our family. We look forward to providing our customers with quality cuisine with a neighborhood feel. With our unique blend of Persian and Southern influences we make food that can only be described as "simply delicious."
Heavenly - that is how I would describe Kay Bob's Dancin' Desiree flat bread sandwich. I chose the sweet potato chips as my side very hesitantly because I'm not too fond of sweet potatoes but they were also delicious! I would definitely come back.Kayla C., Yelp

Here for Kay Bobs's daily cheap pint, and as usual I'm not disappointed - Czann's IPA is a very good local beer. I continue to dig Kay Bob's cheap beer and support for the local beer industry. And I must say (again) KB's always has great service, great flat bread sandwiches and cheap beer/food. I really like this place ! Another great experience.Otis G., Yelp

My son was very ill so I was staying in the children's hospital with him. He was getting a procedure done so I took the time to go and get lunch. Kay Bob's is right around the corner and I decided why not. I'm sure glad that I did. I'm all about grilled food and it was spectacular. I got the chicken platter and it was delicious. Super moist and flavorful. The vegetables were even delicious and I would have been happy with just those as my meal as well. I would recommend this place to anyone visiting the Nashville area that is staying near Vanderbilt. Well worth it!Stephanie O., Trip Advisor
